2009 Youth Camp

Storehouse youth camp started
6th April till 8th April. This was the best camp for me ever in the last
fifteen years of being involved with young people. We went to the camp
without any theme or scripture as a focus point which is not normal to
do, since we decided to be under the open heaven and allow God to lead
us into His presence without any human effort from our side. Wow God did
not disappoint us in this regard and we truly ate the fruit of being
completely dependant upon His grace. As we arrived on the camp grounds
around 12:00 pm I could see the kids were ready to take on their journey
of pursuing God and His divine purpose for the three days. Everybody
were given their different rooms and at the same time our first kitchen
crew were ready to prepare food which in this case was really nice
hotdogs as some were eating five and others three. During these camps
young people always have huge appetites therefore we need lots of money
to make such a camp successful. If you want to see a troubled kid,
“Please leave him hungry at a youth camp”. In fact Dylan came up to me
late one night and asked me if we don’t have any old or lost packet of
chips in our room because he is starving. That first night Ps. Dallas
shared the word of God after we entered into a powerful time of worship
and the theme of his message was about what a prophetic youth looks
like. After the message young people received ministry and God
immediately began to go deeper restoring their prophetic voices.
Tuesday morning we entered into worship and as usual we just flow into
the prophetic so God inspired us to pray for Twetwe’s eyes since we all
know that he is struggling to see very clear most of the time. After we
prayed for him, God began to lead us into more and more ministry for
young people and we ministered to different ones prophetically through
the laying on of hands. In this particular meeting we saw deliverance,
forgiveness and tears of joy as young people began to break the powers
of Satan over each other’s lives.
Tuesday afternoon is marked as one of the highlights of the week as Ps.
Dallas came all the way from Humansdorp to prepare a water slide for the
kids. Almost everyone entered on the slide and it was so much fun to
watch different ones becoming like kids again. Again Twetwe was one of
the first entertainers on the slide. Kayce probably went onto the slide
more then every body else. She was just going crazy followed by Sune,
Susanna, Ronique, Nita, Udre, Keychia, Marcia and her daughter Mishke.
In fact Miske was singing songs of freedom while she was on the slide.
Then later we were joined by Joey, Martha, Nicolette and Marillien. They
came to show everybody else how things is done on what we call a
waterslide. I have never heard my wife screaming so loud ever. The four
of them started out with single slides and later they became so crafted
and created the longest slide train ever seen for the day. Mostly all of
us had bruises on our skin after three hours but Ps. Leon had a bad
accident on the slide where he hurt his tail bone... right at the first
slide and that was it for
Ps. Leon.
Tuesday evening Apostle Steve shared a powerful word with us about
“Where lions feed”. We as the youth learned so much from that message
that lions feed in areas where the fire goes out, we must close every
door to prevent lions from coming in, Lions like to feed on stragglers
(those wild animals who breaks away from the herd) because they are
stubborn and where the buffalo argue, lions feed.
Wednesday morning we ran ourselves into a wall of warfare, but again we
saw that this generation of young people are not willing to defend
themselves only, but they know how to war against any opposition in the
Spirit. Suddenly the heavens began to open again as our youth pressed
into God for the victory. Thank God for anointed leaders and
Nation builders that had a Sprit of discernment. Then Mark shared a
powerful message about the importance of not disappearing in crowd
because of the pressure coming through culture.
Wednesday afternoon was pretty much the same as Tuesday afternoon as
different kids went onto the waterslide again.
Wednesday evening we were joined by Ps. Dallas again, but that night was
also very special because prophetic worship began to launch us into more
ministry to different groups of young people. The Holy Spirit started
pouring freedom to all the kids and I have seen a freedom that only He
can bring. This time was not merely ministry towards individuals but
really about groups ministering together in their different spheres,
community, schools etc. We first prayed and minister to
Jeffreys Bay
kids, later for Arcadia and Gill Markus and later we ministered to the
farm kids. Later five of our
Nation Builder students did a drama which really ministered to all
the kids. It was then followed by a demonstration
Ps. Leon did and the
theme of that was “NO MORE”.
Please continue to pray for us as we have great plans to press in deeper
into God and His Kingdom.
